Brandon Mckinnon
After earning his degree in Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town, Brandon entered private practice to explore his passion for managing patients with lower back, sporting, and orthopaedic injuries. Brandon’s particular areas of interest include difficult-to-diagnose conditions of the shoulder, knee, and lower back.
Brandon has extensive experience treating all patients relating to acute sporting injuries, lower back spinal conditions, ACL rehabilitation, and return to sport. He has provided physiotherapy services to numerous cases referred from across the Queensland surgical community, including conditions relating to the shoulder, knee, lower back, and ankle.
Brandon utilizes a variety of treatment techniques and encourages an exercise-based approach to rehabilitation in combination with appropriate evidence-based hands-on treatment techniques. Furthermore, he has been trained in advanced sporting and rehabilitation taping and strapping techniques, lumbar spine rehabilitation, and dry needling.
His passion for community involvement and sport has allowed him the opportunity to participate at a local and national sporting level. Brandon has worked with the local basketball community and provided physiotherapy support for a QSL team. He was also involved in the national rugby community in South Africa providing physiotherapy services to the premium division of South African Rugby.
Brandon encourages a client-centered approach to treatment. Active and willing participation by the patient is key to achieving the best health outcomes and goals for both the client and therapist. He prides himself on a thorough assessment and making the most informed decision based on patient goals and the latest evidence-based treatments.
