Woolloongabba Sports & Spinal is located just a short drive south of Brisbaneโ€™s central business district. Conveniently located near Annerley,ย Holland Park,ย West End,ย Greenslopes,ย Fairfield,ย South Bank,ย Camp Hill,ย Moorooka,ย Coorparoo,ย Tarragindi,ย Yeronga,ย Kangaroo Point,ย East Brisbane,ย Stones Corner,ย Tennyson,ย Carindale,ย Bulimba,ย Hawthorne,ย Highgate Hill, and other surrounding suburbs.

With an emphasis on core conditioning, breathing and body awareness, our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a safe and highly effective way to stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints.

Core, Strength & Mobility classes utilise various exercises that incorporate balance, power, strength and stability.ย ย 

This can be done either using the Pilates equipment (reformer, trapeze table, exercise ball etc.) in a CSM Studio class or the form of a Mat Class, utilising bodyweight and minimal equipment. From here, we build and progress your program as appropriate with continued advice and education throughout, so you left feeling a better version of YOU.ย ย 

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes are a fitness regime for life, performed on a mat or with specialised equipment. The perfect complement to cardiovascular exercise, sport, rehab and life, these classes will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalised and moving with ease.

Both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists run our classes with Clinical Pilates Experience. Clinical Pilates refers to one-on-one Pilates that are often used for injury rehabilitation and used in conjunction with physiotherapy. Sports & Spinal offers both and can cater to your exact needs.

All patients are required to have an initial assessment with a Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist before beginning any of our classes. This is to familiarise patients with any equipment, positions, and exercises and identify any injuries/restrictions that we may need to be aware of prior to a patient attending a class.

Woolloongabba Sports & Spinal is NDISย registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.ย 

Core, Strength & Mobility classes are perfect for toning and reshaping the body. It works on creating long, lean muscles, toning all of those hard to target areas such as the abdominals, inner thighs, buttocks, back of thighs, sides and backs of the arms. For toning, these classes are best performed 3 to 5 times a week through a combination of studio sessions, mat classes and home exercises.

Pilates exercises are performed through a wide range of movements and work on lengthening the muscles at the same time as strengthening them. To increase flexibility, stretching exercises need to be performed daily.

The Clinical Pilates exercises used in our Core, Strength & Mobility classes focus on strengthening the weakened postural muscles and stretching the tight muscles that pull the body into these poor postures. Studio sessions are the best way to improve posture as our physiotherapists can develop a program to target your specific postural problems. Pilates can also be used for back pain as it relaxes and strengthens the muscles, easing the discomfort.

Our Core, Strength & Mobility classes use Clinical Pilates techniques which are fantastic for injury rehabilitation and prevention as it works on core stability, posture, flexibility, and correcting muscle imbalances and weaknesses via specific strengthening. It can be used for arthritis, neck pain, back pain and various injuries.

Pilates is the secret tool that many high level and recreational athletes use to enhance their performance, decrease the risk of injuries and provide much-needed cross-training. Each sport has specific strength and flexibility requirements. When you book in for an assessment, your physiotherapist will look at the things you need to work on to improve your performance and then proceed to design a Pilates program for you.

Amber Cook-Taylor

Physiotherapist

Amber is a Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours).ย She has previously collaborated with local AFL teams as a sports trainer and worked in private practice seeing a variety of clinical presentations.

Amber values the importance of empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery and has a passion for improving the health and well-being of individuals. Amber has an interest in womenโ€™s health, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, and chronic pain management. She is committed to providing a holistic approach to patient care and tailored treatment plans to help her patients reach their goals no matter how big or small.

Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending her spare time in various outdoor activities such as running, swimming, scuba diving and hiking or going to a variety of sporting events in Brisbane.

Amber is available for Physiotherapy appointments at our Woolloongabba location.

Bianca Mazoletti

Exercise Physiologist

Bianca graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology after completing her studies at the Queensland University of Technology. Bianca has a developing clinical interest in womenโ€™s health and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Alongside completing university, Bianca received certificates for both Pilates reformer and matt work courses. Bianca wishes to combine her Pilates experience and resistance training into her exercise prescription to help musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Bianca is motivated to help improve the quality of life for her patients and is passionate about assisting them through their exercise journey.

Outside of the clinic, Bianca has a passion for a healthy lifestyle herself. However, she does love her coffee and Sunday brunches.

Bianca is available for Exercise Physiology appointments at ourย Woolloongabba clinic.

Parking @ Woolloongabba

We are located at 48 Annerley Road, Woolloongabba. There are 5 parking spaces located on site in front of the clinic which is reserved for clients between 7.30am and 6 pm. If these parks are full there is overflow street parking nearby. As Woolloongabba is considered a metered parking zone, all streets are subject to metered parking.

The main streets we recommend are Heaslop, Crown and Catherine streets. Heaslop street, the street adjacent to us, has 30-minute, 2 hour and 4-hour parking. Crown Street, the street opposite us, has 2-hour and 8-hour parking available whilst Catherine street, which is on the other side of our block, has 4-hour parking only. ย With the new Woolloongabba bikeway being constructed, there are no available parking spaces on Annerley Road.ย  Parking costs $2.70 per hour โ€“ for more information, please find the relevant link to the Brisbane City Councilย website.

Please note we do recognise that you have a choice of therapists and as such, we would like to thank you for choosing us by reimbursing any parking costs which may be incurred by visiting us. Please bring in your receipt at the time of your consultation. Finally, please do not park in the vacant parking lot located off Heaslop Street, opposite the bike shop, as hefty fines will be incurred.
