Remedial Massage Therapist
Nicholas begun his journey in massage therapy in 2021 while in Nepal. Nick was inspired while providing care for a particular elderly client to pursue a career in remedial massage.
In 2023, Nicholas pursued a Certificate IV in Relaxation Massage at Q Academy, which allowed him to gain practical experience as a therapist in Brisbane at City Cave and successfully run his own remedial massage business. He has since completed his Diploma in Remedial Massage (Advanced Rehab) at Q Academy, further enhancing his skills as a remedial therapist, including techniques such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and myofascial cupping.
Nicholas continues to gaining valuable experience at Sports and Spinal, collaborating with other health professionals to provide effective remedial treatments.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Nicholas is an avid meditator and enjoys spending quality time with his fiancé. He has participated in numerous meditation retreats. He believes in “Practicing loving-kindness meditation: as you meditate, bring someone’s face to mind and silently wish them happiness, health, success, and love.”, Something he leant from Nepal. Nicholas is also a passionate musician, previously serving as the lead guitarist for his Latin rock band, ‘Un Dia Antes,’ performing at various events in his.

Amber Cook-Taylor
Physiotherapist
Amber is a Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). She has previously collaborated with local AFL teams as a sports trainer and worked in private practice seeing a variety of clinical presentations.
Amber values the importance of empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery and has a passion for improving the health and well-being of individuals. Amber has an interest in women’s health, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, and chronic pain management. She is committed to providing a holistic approach to patient care and tailored treatment plans to help her patients reach their goals no matter how big or small.
Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending her spare time in various outdoor activities such as running, swimming, scuba diving and hiking or going to a variety of sporting events in Brisbane.

Alexander Young
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapy was a comfortable career choice for Alex after excelling and competing at an elite level of Triathlon from a young age. Alex has spent his career in private Physiotherapist practice on the south side of Brisbane city. He graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy at Griffith University with academic excellence.
Alex has a keen interest in spinal pain as well as shoulder injuries which he frequently sees at the Woolloongabba practice. He has also had exposure to these among many other conditions working within AFL, Queensland Premier Grade Rugby Union and soccer teams at an elite level. Alex was fortunate to spend time working in a strength and conditioning gym, where he was able to advance his services and abilities from some of the leading strength and conditioning coaches in Australia. He has developed relationships with well known specialists and surgeons within the area and is one of the go to Physiotherapists in the region for Pre & Post Operative rehabilitation
Alex prides himself on his clear and precise communication and rapport building with patients. His patients will benefit from an active listener with a high proficiency of exercise prescription skills. Alex has a strong passion for individual patient care and identifies the main contributor to their pain or concern where he is then able to address this specifically and efficiently. He helps individuals to reach outstanding outcomes by optimizing patient health and by getting them back into what matters most – whether it be back on the field, a yoga class or a jog around the park. Alex aims to empower individuals and give them the tools and solutions to manage for the long term.

Nita Hargovan
Physiotherapist
Having completed her Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa) in 2001, Nita joins our team with a wealth of experience in many areas of physiotherapy.
Nita has worked in private practice for most of her career. Her long-term interest is treating musculoskeletal conditions, with a passion for helping her patients reach their optimal function. In addition to symptom relief, her treatments aim to prevent recurrence through individualised exercises and education. Nita believes that empowering her patients and working closely with each individual’s goals is key to attaining a desirable outcome.
Nita’s special interest is treating patients with neck and back pain. Furthermore, patients who experience headaches due to muscular and postural strain is her area of expertise. She is also able to assist patients with sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. Excellent results are achieved through a detailed assessment combined with various treatment techniques, including soft-tissue release, electrotherapy, Dry-Needling and Kinesio-Taping. Nita is an avid learner and completed a course in Business Management in 2014 at Wits Business School, South Africa.
She is also a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APC), AHPRA and the Health Professional Council in South Africa.
A balanced lifestyle is important to her, and she enjoys exercising. She was awarded her South African Table-Tennis colours in 1997.

Michael Gilbert
Physiotherapist
Michael graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours). He has experience working with sporting teams and athletes from various sports at local, state and national levels.
Michael has developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly in injury prevention and sports physio. He is passionate about using hands-on treatment and therapeutic exercises to achieve the best possible outcome for his patients.
Michael enjoys the outdoors and many sports in his spare time, including cricket, rugby league, basketball, and golf.

Jake Phillips
Exercise Physiologist
Jake is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours Class I) from the University of Queensland in 2022. While studying, Jake worked in a Strength & Conditioning facility to extend his knowledge and refine his coaching skills. Jake has a strong exercise background with experience in training for swimming and powerlifting, as well as personal training.
Jake’s specific interest area is in using movement as medicine for musculoskeletal rehabilitation. As a practitioner, Jake is passionate about empowering his clients to self-manage their own health through education and exercise.
Outside of the clinic, Jake competes in powerlifting, which fuels his interest in rehabilitation and performance. He also appreciates great coffee and is always keen to hear about the best places to get a caffeine fix.

Bianca Mazoletti
Exercise Physiologist
Bianca graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology after completing her studies at the Queensland University of Technology. Bianca has a developing clinical interest in women’s health and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Alongside completing university, Bianca received certificates for both Pilates reformer and matt work courses. Bianca wishes to combine her Pilates experience and resistance training into her exercise prescription to help musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Bianca is motivated to help improve the quality of life for her patients and is passionate about assisting them through their exercise journey.
Outside of the clinic, Bianca has a passion for a healthy lifestyle herself. However, she does love her coffee and Sunday brunches.

Georgia Volz
Gut Health, Sports Nutrition & Chronic Disease Dietitian
Georgia is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She strives to ensure her clients feel supported and empowered throughout their journey to better health through nutrition. Using evidence-based practice, Georgia can tailor nutrition strategies to each client to meet their goals. Georgia’s special interest areas include weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.

Linda Bennetts
Senior Physiotherapist
Line Bennetts completed a diploma of Physiotherapy graduating from the Otago University in 1975. Linda’s love for the sport and the management of sports related injuries led her into a successful career in sporting arena. Linda was the first ever female physiotherapist to travel with a New Zealand Commonwealth Games or Olympic Games team to the Brisbane Commonwealth Games in 1982. Linda was also fortunate to be part of the first evet World Athletics Championships in Helsinki 1983 travelling with the New Zealand team.
Due to suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, the cold weather in Invercargill prompted a move to Brisbane in 1983. Since the move, Linda has been the resident physiotherapist at Wests Rugby Club for over 40 years, and worked with many representative rugby union teams including; Australian U19 1995, Australian U21 1996-2000, Australian 7’s and Queensland B in the 1990’s. As well as rugby Linda has also had the privilege of working with elite level athletes from many sports including her involvement with the Queensland Academy of Sport and Australian Institute of Sport.
Linda’s ‘holistic’ approach to the management of chronic pain, whereby she not only treats the symptoms but trails the causative factors and this has her on the forefront of the understanding and management of chronic pain in Brisbane. When Linda isn’t working, she enjoys sunshine at the beach, and spending time with her family.

Emily Ricketts
Psychologist
Originally from Melbourne, Emily is a psychologist who completed her undergraduate and graduate diploma studies at Monash University. She then pursued her Masters in Psychology (Sport and Exercise) at the University of Queensland. Emily is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists.
With diverse experience in general psychological treatment, chronic pain management, and sports, Emily can provide support to a wide variety of individuals. Emily offers psychology services to young people and adults to improve their quality of life and well-being. She can assist individuals navigating chronic pain and adjusting to large changes in life, coping with anxiety and/ or depression, and addressing various other mental health concerns.
Passionate about providing a safe space for her clients, Emily aims to help them build self-confidence, enhance their overall quality of life, and live authentically. She welcomes clients seeking support in areas such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, ADHD, interpersonal concerns, relationships, self-esteem, body image, veterans, grief and loss, and general counselling.
Outside of work, Emily is passionate about health and fitness and can often be found in the gym or enjoying meals at some of Queensland’s best restaurants.

Parking @ Woolloongabba
We are located at 48 Annerley Road, Woolloongabba. There are 5 parking spaces located on site in front of the clinic which is reserved for clients between 7.30am and 6 pm. If these parks are full there is overflow street parking nearby. As Woolloongabba is considered a metered parking zone, all streets are subject to metered parking.
The main streets we recommend are Heaslop, Crown and Catherine streets. Heaslop street, the street adjacent to us, has 30-minute, 2-hour and 4-hour parking. Crown Street, the street opposite us, has 2-hour and 8-hour parking available whilst Catherine street, which is on the other side of our block, has 4-hour parking only. With the new Woolloongabba bikeway being constructed, there are no available parking spaces on Annerley Road. Parking costs $2.70 per hour – for more information, please find the relevant link to the Brisbane City Council website.
Finally, please do not park in the vacant parking lot located off Heaslop Street, opposite the bike shop, as hefty fines will be incurred.
