Accredited Exercise Physiologists (EPs) are highly qualified allied health professionals specialising in providing exercise and lifestyle therapies to prevent and manage chronic diseases, injuries, and disabilities.
An EP undergoes four years of university training to become an exercise prescription expert. They will collaborate with you to create a personalised exercise program tailored to your specific injuries, health status, and goals.
At Sports & Spinal, our Exercise Physiologists are dedicated to helping you manage your condition by formulating a suitable treatment plan that aligns with your specific goals. They utilise movement and exercise, along with targeted education and motivational guidance, to effectively treat and manage various health conditions.
Our accredited Exercise Physiologists have expertise in addressing a wide range of concerns, including Diabetes & Obesity, General Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health Issues, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Neurological Conditions, Strength & Conditioning, Women’s Health, Aging, Chronic Pain, Fatigue, Cardiovascular Health, Pulmonary Health, Paediatrics, and Cancer.
Exercise plays a vital role in enhancing the body’s efficiency, which enables us to better manage conditions or diseases that may impact our overall functioning.
When you visit our Exercise Physiologist, you can expect them to attentively listen to your personal story and ask relevant questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs. They will conduct a detailed, goal-focused, clinical, and functional assessment to guide the development of an appropriate treatment plan.
The specific treatment you receive will be customised to your unique circumstances and may involve modified movements and exercises aimed at improving your strength, fitness, balance, and other functional abilities. As you progress, your treatment plan will be adjusted accordingly, ensuring continued progress. Our Exercise Physiologists are equipped to provide education on health, conditions, injuries, and offer guidance on what activities are beneficial and what to avoid. Treatment sessions may take place in various environments, including our onsite gym, your regular gym, or pools, depending on your interests and goals.
Our Exercise Physiologists believe in a multi-disciplinary approach and are committed to working alongside other health professionals to effectively manage your condition and support your overall wellbeing.
