Trudi Mercer

Physiotherapist

Trudi grew up in the UK competing in many different sports which ignited her interest in physiotherapy. After graduating from Kings College London in 2014 with a BSc Honours degree in physiotherapy, she gained a wealth of experience within acute hospital settings. In a large teaching hospital in central London, she treated patients with a huge range of conditions in multiple specialties. After a few years she returned back to her hometown to progress her career in a private hospital.

This led to Trudi working with industry-leading surgeons on patients wanting to return to all levels of activity with complex orthopaedic procedures, both in the public and private sector. Trudi was then able to combine her love for sports and physiotherapy, working with several professional sports teams. This included high-performing athletes at a Championship Rugby Union side, a British Basketball Championship side and an internationally acclaimed performing arts Institute.

In order to keep her practices up to date and relevant, Trudi has completed advanced taping courses, developed her dry needling skills and continued to progress her exercise prescription. She also opened her own small business in the UK focusing on clients in the community who require extensive physio after long hospital stays or injuries that threaten their independence. As a result, she boasts an extensive knowledge of specific and appropriate rehabilitation from injury.

Because of her 10 years in the industry, Trudi is very capable of treating a wide range of conditions. She has a particular interest in acute back and neck problems, through to ankle, knee and foot rehabilitation with specific goals to return to sport. She strives to provide a personal service to all clients and age groups who seek out physiotherapy at Sports & Spinal.

Outside of work Trudi enjoys playing tennis regularly and practices what she preaches with her dedication to the gym. She takes any opportunity to travel the world with her partner hence their big move to Australia!

While working as a Paramedic, Cat enjoyed mentoring students, new graduates, Defence force medics and medical students. Cat was then offered an academic role teaching and mentoring 1st, 2nd and 3rd year Paramedic students at Central Queensland University which she thoroughly enjoyed.
