Sippy Downs Sports & Spinal is located in Sippy Downs in the Ochre Building, conveniently located near Chancellor Park, Harmony Estate, Palmview and Glenview.

The Sippy Downs Sports & Spinal team uses the latest evidence-based treatments to treat various conditions, including shoulder, neck and back pain, sporting injuries, lower limb conditions, women’s health, headaches, work cover incidents, pre-and post-surgical, motor vehicle accidents and more.

Our team will provide you with a comprehensive assessment and treatment from start to finish. Our clinicians will work with YOU to facilitate your complete recovery.

Sippy Downs Sports & Spinal is NDIS registered and accepts Medicare rebates and HICAPS health fund claims. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are also available for payment.

Imogen Brew

Physiotherapist

From across the ditch in Aotearoa New Zealand, Imogen studied a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Otago graduating in 2022. She descends from Ngāti Porou, a Māori iwi from the East Coast of NZ, and has a keen interest in a holistic approach to health care based on the Māori health principles of family and healing through nature.

Imogen has been a ballet dancer since she was 3 years old. Ballet inspired her to become a physiotherapist and pursue a career to help others achieve the goals they set for themselves. She also enjoys playing netball and running.

Imogen is available for physiotherapy consults at Sippy Downs Sports & Spinal.

Caitlin Barden

Remedial Massage Therapist

Caitlin has been practicing massage therapy since 2015 after achieving her Diploma of Remedial Massage at Armidale. In 2018, Caitlin expanded her skill set into a variety of complementary techniques to best tailor massage to meet her client’s goals and needs. These include: Deep tissue, Dry needling, Myofascial Cupping, relaxation and IASTM (RockBlades), Manual Lymphatic Drainage and pregnancy massage.

Caitlin’s client’s are always her top priority to ensure their massage expectations are met. This is achieved by creating a safe and comfortable environment, actively listening to clients concerns, discussing treatment options and employing evidence-based massage techniques.

Caitlin is looking forward to exploring all the Sunshine Coast has to offer and pursuing her current interests of outdoor photography, travelling, and looking after her two dogs.

Caitlin is available for remedial massage therapy consults at Sports & Spinal Sippy Downs.

Alannah Grimm

Physiotherapist

Alannah graduated from the University of Canberra after completing a Bachelor of Sports Coaching & Exercise Science in 2012 and a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2015. Alannah has over 8 years’ experience working in Physiotherapy private practice, initially in small clinic in Hervey Bay before moving and settling into her current role at Sports & Spinal on the Sunshine Coast. She has completed further training via Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Sports Physiotherapy Level 1 & 2 course and Aquatic Physiotherapy Level 1 & 2.

Alannah is happy to see and treat an array of musculoskeletal injuries, but does have a keen interest in shoulder/hip/knee/ankle joint pain, tendinopathies and youth injuries. She is keen to promote general physical activity that is meaningful to the individual, and sees the benefits of utilising strength and conditioning programs and principles as part of her treatment plans. Alannah enjoys running several of our Aquatic Exercise and Core Strength and Mobility (Pilates) classes at Sippy Downs.

On a personal note, Alannah is kept busy outside of work with her 2 young children. In her spare time, you will likely find her at Parkrun on a Saturday morning, getting sweaty at CrossFit and/or attempting to develop her sewing skills.

Mitch Esdale

Musculoskeletal, Spine & Knee, Lower Limb & Spine Physiotherapist

Mitch graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Australian Catholic University in 2013. Since then he has worked across a number of reputable private practices in Brisbane, London and the Sunshine Coast. Mitch has over 10 years experience working within musculoskeletal and sporting private practices, including extensive experience with complex knee conditions.

Mitch has also worked with a number of professional and semi-professional rugby, soccer and netball teams. Mitch enjoys helping patients to understand their conditions and utilising best evidence based practice to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Outside of work, Mitch keeps busy enjoying social soccer, running and playing with his two young children.

Mitch is available for physiotherapy consults at our Sippy Downs practice.

Sophie Nall

Podiatrist

Sophie has completed her Bachelor in Podiatry degree at The Queensland University of Technology and recently relocated to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane. Through university she worked at The Athlete’s Foot and has extensive knowledge in footwear technologies and prescription for all sorts of activities including running, netball, football and gym specific footwear.

Sophie is passionate about multiple aspects of podiatry including sports injuries, dermatological care and paediatrics. She has a special interest in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions and curating individualised treatment plans to get patients back to what they love doing.

Outside of work she likes matcha, a good music playlist and keeps active by running, strength training and reformer classes.

Sophie is available for Podiatry consults at our Sippy Downs and Kawana clinics.

Jarrad Campbell

Physiotherapist

Jarrad graduated from Australian Catholic University (ACU) in 2019. He has developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries and always strives to get the best outcomes for his patients. He is always open to further expanding his knowledge and expertise and will undertake further courses soon.

Having competed internationally in sprint kayaking, he knows the importance of looking after your body and the demands of training and competing well to prevent injuries.

Outside of physio, Jarrad enjoys spending time at the beach, surfing, travelling, living an active outdoors lifestyle and hanging out with friends.

Jarrad is available for Physiotherapy appointments at our Sippy Downs clinic.

Steve Osborne

Physiotherapist

Steve trained in the UK qualifying as a Physiotherapist in 2002. Steve has completed post-graduate training in Acupuncture, Pilates, Watson Headache (Migraine) Treatment, Manipulative Therapy Techniques, Dry Needling, Myofascial Massage, and Vestibular (Dizziness) Rehabilitation. He has a special interest in falls prevention and enjoys working with older adults.

Steve initially worked in the UK national health system for six years and then moved back to his home country, New Zealand, to run his own clinic for 13 years. Steve has an extensive background in the health and fitness industry after gaining an Advanced Certificate in Exercise Science in 1992 and he also worked as a fitness instructor for over 10 years in Auckland and London.

Steve believes in functional training and getting to the cause of your problems, leading to a longer lasting and more effective long-term result. Steve’s goal is to get you better than you were pre-injury/operation.

Outside of work, Steve is a keen photographer, enjoys fishing and mountain biking, and is kept busy by his three children.

Ainslee O’Connell

Podiatry Partner - Sunshine Coast

Ainslee graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours) and has been working in private practice since.

Ainslee completed her honours research in the biomechanical field with her paper ‘The effect of dynamic movement tasks on the restrictive properties of rigid strapping tape’, being presented at the 2019 Australian Podiatry Conference. With a passion for all things lower limb, Ainslee has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions, biomechanics, injury prevention, and footwear prescription/advice. Outside of Podiatry, Ainslee is a keen netballer and enjoys all things sport-related.

Ainslee is available for Podiatry appointments at our Buderim and Sippy Downs clinics.

Emily Abbott

Women's Health & Continence Physiotherapist

Emily graduated from Curtain University in Western Australia in 2018 with First Class Honours in Physiotherapy. She worked for a number of years in hospitals across a large variety of areas, including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and neurological rehabilitation, maternity, paediatrics, musculoskeletal and intensive care. It was during these years that she developed a passion for Women’s Pelvic Health after her work across maternity wards and assisting women to recover after urogynaecological surgeries. She has since gone on to complete several postgraduate courses in Pelvic Health, including a Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne.

Emily can treat and assist in antenatal and postnatal management, prolapse, poor bladder, and bowel control or incontinence, bladder and bowel pain, pelvic pain conditions such as painful intercourse, menstrual pain, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis and rehabilitation support for urogynaecological surgeries. Emily is also a Pilates instructor and runs women’s health Pilates classes.

Emily’s passion is to partner with women to create and facilitate holistic health, well-being, and empowerment, so they can lead the life they want to live without limitations.

Emily is available for Women’s Health Physiotherapy appointments at our Maroochydore, Sippy Downs, and Buderim locations.

Anita Seymour

Exercise Physiologist

Anita is an exercise physiologist who graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Anita studied exercise physiology to combine her two passions of exercise and helping people.

Anita has a keen interest in living a healthy well-rounded lifestyle both physically and mentally, which she tries to recognize within each client’s session. Anita is motivated to help others achieve their goals in an individualised manner.

If not at work Anita can usually be found out with her dog at the beach, camping, or chasing waterfalls on hiking trails. She is also heavily involved in local touch rugby league competitions.

Anita is available for Exercise Physiology appointments at our Sippy Downs clinic.

Mitchell Rose

Massage Therapist

Mitch has a Diploma in Remedial Massage. He has just joined us from Perth, where he worked in a large multidisciplinary clinic. He also had the opportunity to work providing sports massage for men and women’s elite sports teams such as Fremantle Dockers, Western Force, Perth Glory, and Perth Wildcats, as well as world-class women’s tennis players for the United Cup.

These two experiences have shaped him as a therapist to be comfortable treating and communicating with patients clinically who are referred by other practitioners, as well as being confident in treating a variety of athletes with varying needs.

Mitch’s ideal clients are people of any level who take their sport, fitness or health journey seriously. These are his own values towards life, work, sport, fitness and health, and he thrives on treating people with the same philosophy. His skills include but are not limited to deep tissue, trigger point therapy, relaxation, sports massage and dry needling.

His main interests outside of work are his young family, his Border Collie and competing in various endurance sports.

Brooke Svensson

Exercise Physiologist

Brooke completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. With previous personal training experience, Brooke finds that her strengths are motivating and uplifting her clients to create a positive exercise environment. She prioritises good communication and collaboration, where she takes the time to understand her clients. This is so that the exercise prescription can be tailored to her client’s lifestyle and specific to their needs. She loves to see her clients achieve their short- and long-term goals.

Ultimately, Brooke wants to empower her clients through exercise and education to assist with independent living and an increased capacity to do every day and recreational activities.

She has a commitment to her learning and enjoys expanding her skills, where she completed her Cert IV in Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructing through Breathe Education. Her Pilates experience opens opportunity for her clients to select different modes of exercise to assist with their rehabilitation.

Outside of the clinic, Brooke loves the gym and an active lifestyle, but also loves her down time at the beach.

Candice Newing

Dietitian

Candice is passionate about supporting her clients along their journey to reaching optimal health through food and nutrition. Shortly after graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast, she chose to start her dietetic career in private practice as she enjoys working closely alongside her clients and seeing the wonderful impact healthy lifestyle changes can make. Candice is committed to empowering and building her client’s confidence in making lifelong changes by providing personalised nutrition education and setting realistic goals.

She welcomes all types of clients and has a special interest in weight management, chronic disease management, and gastrointestinal health.

In her spare time, you can find Candice at the beach, trying new restaurants, or catching up with friends.

Candice is available for Dietitian appointments at our Buderim, Coolum, Maroochydore & Sippy Downs clinics.
